Job Summary
Jabil, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Intern to support application development initiatives within the Materials Department. This role provides hands-on experience building and enhancing web-based solutions that support materials management and manufacturing processes. The intern will work with modern front-end technologies and relational databases to help improve data visibility, efficiency, and decision-making across materials operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain web application features using Angular (core) and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with backend services and databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries to support materials-related data and reporting needs.
- Assist in designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for internal tools used by the Materials team.
- Debug and resolve application issues across the front-end and data layers.
- Document code, technical designs, and basic user guides for developed features.
- Support the integration of new application functionality with existing systems and data sources.
- Work closely with materials analysts, engineers, and other developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Job Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Python, C++, C#).
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
- Knowledge of database concepts (SQL or NoSQL) is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
