Software Development Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer Summer Intern to join our Exlar team! As our Software Development Engineer Intern, under direct supervision you will assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications by applying established engineering principles, contributing to enhancements and defect resolution, and supporting documentation efforts that ensure reliable product performance and user experience. An Intern typically represents a college student in their sophomore or junior year who is looking to gain related work experience while pursuing an undergraduate degree. This Intern position will run approximately between June 1st through August 28th.

Location: Chanhassen, MN

Salary/hourly rate: $24.00/Hour

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to software design, coding, debugging, and implementation activities for new features and routine enhancements
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software issues by analyzing defects and collaborating with technical staff to identify effective solutions
  • Participate in software testing activities, including developing and executing test cases to verify functionality and performance
  • Support the creation and revision of user manuals, technical documentation, and related materials to ensure accurate and clear product guidance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, clarify technical needs, and ensure alignment with software development practices and standards

Representative Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Software development or related technical experience desired
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python
  • Ability to apply software engineering principles to routine development and debugging tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers and technical staff
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to software development best practices
