At arculus, we design, build, and maintain cutting-edge autonomous mobile robots and the software ecosystem around them. Our Development department brings together software, infrastructure, and product experts in a collaborative, international environment, focused on delivering reliable and high-quality products that make a real difference in intralogistics.
Your Role
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will strengthen our automation capabilities and elevate product quality across all software layers. You will drive early and systematic defect detection, enable scalable testing, and build confidence in our releases. Working closely with development, QA, and release teams, you will shift quality validation left and ensure fast, reliable feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities
Define and maintain the automated test strategy aligned with product risk, maturity, and release cadence; establish automation scope across unit, integration, system, and API levels and contribute to quality gates
Develop, maintain, and extend automated test frameworks; implement regression, smoke, and critical-path tests while ensuring test code quality and maintainability
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback and support release readiness through validation of test results
Detect defects early, provide high-quality diagnostics, and support root cause analysis by improving logs, assertions, and test visibility; collaborate with QA Field and Release teams to reproduce issues
Track automation effectiveness, flakiness, and maintenance effort; identify testability gaps and continuously improve automation coverage based on field data and incidents
Your Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
5+ years of experience in software testing, including 3+ years in test automation development
Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured) and UI automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript; Rust is a plus)
Solid understanding of testing strategies for distributed systems and scalable automation architectures
Experience with quality management tools (e.g., Jira Xray)
Familiarity with Docker or containerized test environments is a plus
Who You Are
Transparent and accountable, proactively communicating results and improvements
Analytical and structured in problem-solving and decision-making
Strong communicator with a collaborative and empathetic approach
Self-driven, with a clear sense of ownership and continuous learning mindset
Aligned with values of responsibility, clarity, and effective teamwork
WHY ARCULUS
We are a diverse, global team of 100+ creative thinkers, algorithmic brains, makers, movers, and shakers.
Our approach comes from a continuous cycle: assemble, weld, code, test, deploy or delete, and repeat. That is how we deliver innovative solutions to tackle the biggest intralogistics challenges.
You will find our tech space nestled within the eastern region of Munich. It serves as a hub for our team's creativity and collaboration, featuring state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a fully-equipped electronics lab, and a spacious robotics testing area. Our team also enjoys a variety of social spaces, all within the modern infrastructure of the renowned Neue Balan campus.
We are more than just a workplace: we are a community. We encourage connection and affiliation through a range of activities: hiking trips, running events, ping pong tournaments, and quiz nights — there is something for everyone.
We also believe that work should be rewarding in more ways than just one. That is why we offer competitive salaries and benefits like EGYM Wellpass, language courses, Jobrad, and flexible working hours.
If you are moving to join our team, we provide relocation and visa support to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
