Description:

The Modern Workplace Engineering team is responsible for delivering next-generation end-user computing platforms that encompass the design, engineering, and implementation of advanced endpoint management technologies and solutions across Windows, Mac, and Mobile platforms at BlackRock, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop seamless digital workplace solutions aligned with the firm's goals. The team is dedicated to innovating and excelling by automating tasks, developing software applications and tools, continuously improving the services and processes, and ensuring consistency across all devices, ultimately improving security, and enhancing employee productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Define stories, build, and prioritize the backlogs for assigned products to unlock value to our business users quickly and safely.

  • Ensure products have appropriate governance controls in place to mitigate Information Security risks and Compliance considerations.

  • Work with your peers, squad members and engineering leads to prioritize and coordinate projects and tasks.

  • Work with vendors and third parties to escalate issues and petition for feature and enhancement requests.

  • Provide technical and process support for our products and guidance where appropriate.

  • Maintain and enhance existing code deployed to our environment.

  • Design and develop new code-based solutions as needed for the environment.

  • Interact with projects and initiatives that the team is undertaking and suggest automation strategies.

  • Identify system problems and develop innovative solutions to improve processing efficiency and stability.

  • Engage with cross functional teams in other technology initiatives and projects.

  • Provide escalation support and collaborate with technology teams to troubleshoot issues and provide resolutions.

  • Create supporting documentation for various audiences.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software programming /development experience in .NET Framework (C# / VB)

  • Working knowledge of .NET Languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET, ASP.net), WinForms and HTML5/CSS3

  • Experience in other programming/scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, VBScript etc.)

  • Knowledge of data interchange formats, such as XML, JSON. ARM, AJAX etc.

  • Knowledge of SQL Server, ideally design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC), etc.)

  • Familiarity and experience in implementing WPF, XAML UI framework, Entity Framework/ADO.net

  • Knowledge of working with REST and RPC APIs and manipulating data received and sent.

  • Experience in developing Windows applications and web applications.

  • Experience in developing Windows based Services.

  • Experience in use of inter-process communication between applications (such as, named pipe)

  • Experience in working programmatically with Active Directory and reading / writing attributes of objects.

  • Experience in creating / hosting web services.

  • Experience in SQL server (e.g. create/update/interact with stored procedures) and database optimization.

  • Working knowledge of agile frameworks and methodologies, including Git repositories

  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.

  • Willingness to learn and be involved in team projects.

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience in working in Microsoft Azure, using Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, Pipelines etc.

  • Previous career experience in working in a Desktop Support or Infrastructure Support role.

  • Previous career experience creating \ automating virtual machines using Citrix MCS
