We are seeking a talented Backend Developer SDII to join one of our energetic teams. In this role, you will help drive the growth and development of our Hospitality product group, aiding our goal to expand into new markets and strengthen our comprehensive commerce platform.

You will be joining the team driving the Lightspeed L- and G-series products, which power hospitality businesses across Europe and help them deliver exceptional guest experiences. Our mission is to stay ahead of customer needs and evolving regulations, while at the same time modernizing our technology stack to ensure these products remain reliable, scalable, and future-ready.

You will join an international, independent and collaborative team, continuously improving our engineering practices, infrastructure and codebase, all while keeping it fun. Most importantly, your work will directly shape the daily experience of business owners and hospitality guests.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working alongside some of the most brilliant minds in the industry, you will contribute to the L&G series product by building new features and improving the developer experience.
  • Juggle responsibilities between crafting new features and the modernization of our backend tech stack.
  • Report to the Development Manager, maintaining robust interaction with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Teams.
  • Participate in daily agile ceremonies, ignite innovation that challenges the status quo, and actualize solution-oriented ideas.
  • Advocate for superior code quality and accountability, contributing actively to infrastructure health.
  • Foster growth within your team by disseminating knowledge and best practices, while perpetually striving for advancement and progression.

What you'll be bringing to the team: 

  • Outstanding Java knowledge with 4+ years of production usage experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the Spring framework
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • A strong advocate for testing, with experience in automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Proficiency in English, exhibiting effective communication skills.

 What will increase your chances:

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with cloud environments like GCP, AWS, and cloud solutions like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Computer Sciences degree or equivalent
