About the Team

Workday’s global opportunity is huge. Our Globalization Content team within our Growth organization is focused on building, maintaining and operating fully localized configuration, integrations, reports and Extend applications that meet our customer’s needs in global markets. By delivering a comprehensive catalog of content we enable the opportunity for Workday to serve our more customers effectively, winning more deals, reducing deployment cost and total cost of ownership. We deliver a clear return on investment for the business and help drive our global growth.

About the Role

You will take on an engineer role in the team, with responsibility for developing our Extend and XO solutions, integrations and configuration content.  You will follow development best practices, while mentoring less experienced team members to achieve success.  You are a problem solver and innovator who can work independently when not collaborating closely with team mates, PMs and architects.

About You

Basic Qualification 
 

  • 5+ years experience in software development engineering including designing, developing, and deploying software solutions.
  • 3+ years experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, XO, Python, JavaScript or another OO language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of API Development, including REST, SOAP web services and experience working with data formats like XML, JSON.

Other Qualification

  • Solid ability in Algorithmic Thinking to design and implement efficient solutions incorporating development best practices.
  • Good understanding of Code Testing methodologies, such as TDD, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles like abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and their application in software design.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development principles and proficiency in Object Oriented languages and Agile methodologies like Kanban.
  • Working experience with Source Control Management (SCM) tools such as git and branching strategies.
  • Proven ability in Team Collaboration within a software development team, including code reviews, story mapping, pairing, mentoring and design workshops.
  • Good skills in creating Technical Writing Documentation.
  • Workday Extend Certification.
  • Familiar with the Workday Query Language (WQL).
  • Experience with Workday's product suite or similar platforms.
