Job Overview
As an Automation Engineer at ResMed, you will design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective applications to automate critical engineering processes and support test automation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Verification and Validation engineers, System engineers, and other product development teams, to support and deliver software solutions that modernize legacy systems, automate testing, and ensure compliance with standards such as FDA regulations. You are expected to work independently while collaborating with a high-impact team to achieve shared goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Software Applications: Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based and desktop solutions to enhance our test automation platform for medical devices.
Automated and AI-Powered Workflows: Design and implement automated workflows across the engineering development lifecycle.
Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery: Create fully automated documentation, testing, and deployment pipelines.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with internal engineering, QA, and regulatory teams to gather requirements, enable data-driven product decisions, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Optimize AWS Infrastructure: Deploy and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective workflows on AWS, utilizing serverless architectures and analytics pipelines.
Iterate and Innovate: Work within an agile development process, incorporating stakeholder feedback and supporting team success.
Qualifications
Required
Experience:
2+ years of software engineering experience
Proven expertise in building and deploying applications in production environments
Degree in Engineering or Science (Software, Computer, or related field)
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in .NET for backend development
Advanced knowledge of AWS, especially serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, API Gateway) and data analytics pipelines (e.g., AWS Glue, Athena)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Collaboration and Communication:
Strong product instincts and ability to independently interact with stakeholders
Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Problem-Solving: Ability to design secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that deliver measurable outcomes (e.g., reduced engineering effort and error rates)
Preferred
Experience with UI/UX design and frontend development (e.g., React, JavaScript)
Experience with application and hardware integration
Knowledge of FDA regulatory compliance or medical device testing workflows
Background in modernizing legacy systems or integrating software with hardware devices
Experience with generative AI frameworks
Deliverables and Success Metrics
Deliver new features and improvements to Resmed Test Automation Platform, reducing manual effort and improve test repeatability.
Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure that all software deliverables are full tested and deployed.
Ensuring AWS cloud setup is secure, scalable and cost-effective.
Modernising existing systems to work better with new automation frameworks.
Actively engage with team, contributing to discussions to achieve shared objectives and provides constructive feedback in code reviews or design discussions.
