Are you an early‑career backend developer excited to learn how large‑scale cloud platforms are built and operated? At Autodesk, we’re building the future of cloud platforms on our next‑generation Consumption platform. As a Software Developer (New Grad), you’ll contribute to real services used globally while learning from experienced developers in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Implement features and fixes in backend services under mentorship, writing secure, reliable, and maintainable code with unit tests and clear documentation
Learn to build and optimize microservices and event‑driven components that support Autodesk’s Consumption platform
Participate in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback) to learn best practices and maintain high code quality
Follow Agile practices: estimate tasks, participate in stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives with guidance
Troubleshoot and resolve routine code issues; escalate and seek guidance on unfamiliar problems
Assist with production deployments, basic operational tasks, and monitoring as part of end‑to‑end service ownership with oversight
Use Agentic AI‑assisted programming tools responsibly to increase productivity and code quality, guided by team standards
Contribute to team knowledge via documentation, tests, and incremental improvements to developer experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)
Strong foundation in CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, networking, and basic distributed systems concepts
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Go
Familiarity with version control (Git), testing basics, and RESTful or event‑driven service patterns
Clear communication, collaborative mindset, and willingness to seek guidance and learn quickly
Internship, research, or significant project experience in backend development or cloud services
Exposure to AWS or similar cloud platforms (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora) is a plus
Coursework or experience with microservices, streaming/real‑time processing, or containerization (Docker)
Experience with CI/CD, basic observability (metrics/logging), and security best practices for services
Interest in cost‑aware design, performance, and reliability engineering

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $72,000 and $105,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.Diversity & Belonging
