About the Team
At Workday, the IT Service Management and Operations team is the cornerstone of our business operations and is responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining critical capabilities enabling all information technology and business teams to deliver outstanding services to Workday teams and customers. This team owns ITSM and IT SDLC related services and spearheads effective agile development and resilient IT Operations.About the Role
As a Software Asset Manager you will be managing software asset intake, onboarding, certification, and decommissioning processes. Your mission is to maintain accurate asset data throughout its lifecycle, with the focus on delivering real-time informative reliable reporting to executive management unlocking their ability to make informed decisions that will drive attainment of strategic goals. You will play a vital role in driving efficiency, reducing risk, and promoting long-term sustainability. Your key responsibilities will include:
Partner with the Procurement team on new software purchases and renewals
Ensure timely engagement from Business Technology product owners and architects throughout the process.
Monitor and promote adoption of policies and procedures for asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal
Maintain accurate, and up-to-date records of all software assets
Oversee data collection, cleaning, and migration processes to ensure accurate and complete asset information
Generate and deliver regular reports on IT asset inventory, compliance, utilization, and costs.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of SAM processes and procedures.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on asset management initiatives
About You
Basic qualifications:
5+ years of experience in technical IT Asset Management role within a large technology company
5+ years of experience managing software asset repository
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or 8+ years of experience in a technology management role.
Other qualifications:
Hands-on experience using ServiceNow solutions
Excellent organizational, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong focus on delivering exceptional user experiences through technology
Familiarity with SOX compliance best practices
