Job Summary
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing end‑to‑end technology solutions that align with business strategy, functional requirements, and enterprise architecture standards. This role partners with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and cross‑functional groups to translate business needs into scalable, reliable, secure, and cost‑effective technical architectures.
The architect ensures that proposed solutions integrate well across systems, adhere to architectural principles, and support long‑term technology roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Architecture
- Lead the design of end‑to‑end solutions across applications, data, integrations, security, and infrastructure.
- Develop logical and physical architecture diagrams, data flows, integration patterns, and system interfaces.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and propose solution alternatives with trade‑offs.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance.
2. Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary technical authority on assigned initiatives.
- Provide guidance to engineering, development, and operations teams throughout the SDLC.
- Review technical designs, and configuration for alignment with architecture.
- Mentor technical leads and developers to improve architecture competency across teams.
- Define and deliver end‑to‑end Azure architectures including compute, networking, security, integration, API management, serverless components, containerization, and monitoring.
- Produce cloud architecture artifacts:
- Azure landing zone patterns
- Terraform‑aligned infrastructure definitions
- Microservices and API gateway patterns
- Event-driven architectures (Event Hub, Service Bus, Event Grid)
- Ensure all solution designs align with HP’s Platform Reference Architectures, and cloud governance controls.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud-native services (IaaS, PaaS, serverless, containerization).
- Identify opportunities for AI/ML, automation, and modernization to improve system capabilities.
- Stay current with technological trends and assess applicability to business problems.
- Ability to translate business outcomes into cloud-enabled technical strategies.
3. Requirements & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business analysts, product managers, and SMEs to refine requirements and define solution scope.
- Facilitate technical workshops, design sessions, and architectural walkthroughs.
- Translate non‑technical business needs into solution specifications.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Risk teams to validate compliance across geographies and regulated workloads.
- Lead architectural reviews, design forums, and cloud readiness assessments across groups.
- Ability to drive architectural alignment across multiple stakeholders, domains, and geographies.
4. Integration & Interoperability
- Define integration strategies and patterns for connecting systems, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud services.
- Validate dependencies and ensure solutions fit smoothly within the enterprise application landscape.
- Recommend approaches for performance tuning, scalability, and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions and provide pragmatic, enterprise‑scale solutions.
- Strong storytelling, influencing, and executive communication.
5. Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure solution compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Implement best practices for identity, access, encryption, and system hardening.
7. Delivery Support
- Support estimation, planning, and sequencing of technical tasks.
- Provide architecture inputs during vendor evaluations, RFPs, and solution selection.
- Assist with troubleshooting complex issues in pre‑production or production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, technical leadership, or architecture roles.
- Proven background designing distributed, scalable, cloud‑native, and integrated enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of:
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
- API design and integration frameworks
- Data modeling, databases, and analytics pipelines
- Security and compliance standards
- DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
Deep hands-on experience with:
- Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, App Service
- Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub
- Azure Storage, Azure SQL
- Networking: VNets, subnets, private endpoints, NSGs, WAF
- Observability: App Insights, Log Analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Enterprise Architect or cloud certifications (AWS SA, Azure Architect, TOGAF, etc.).
- Experience with microservices, event‑driven architectures, and domain‑driven design.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to AI/ML solution design is a plus.
- Experience/Knowledge of Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Chatbot, Mobile application development is a plus
