Social Worker Supervisor

Rochester General Hospital (RGH) Full time

SUMMARY

Provides staff supervision related to assigned areas of responsibility. Supervisor, Social Work, works closely with Department /Practice Managers to ensure positive working relationship between social work staff and RRH Hospital/Medical Group providers and staff, as well as community partners. Adheres to policies, procedures, and established standards of professional conduct. Upholds patient rights in all settings.

SCHEDULE: M-F, 8:00AM- 4:00PM

ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work various software applications.

  • Experience in the Medicaid eligibility determination and enrollment process.

  • Five years’ experience in healthcare, social work or related position, with supervisory experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direction in performance standards, expectations, and productivity for each staff member.

  • Develops quality indicator to measure performance and outcomes.

  • Conducts documentation audits.

  • Coordinates and monitors all in-reach and outreach services provided by the social work team.

  • Supervises assigned social work staff.

  • Utilizes Health System performance management guidelines to counsel staff as problems occur.

  • Implements RRH disciplinary process as necessary, consulting with Human Resources and appropriate leader.

  • Selects appropriate candidates for positions, working closely with the appropriate leader.

  • Provides for orientation of new staff. Supervises and mentors staff, reviews staff performance with appropriate leader, and completes required performance appraisals.

  • Delivers ongoing education, training, and motivation to empower all team members for when social work staff and/or leader are unavailable.

  • Provides social work consultation and program service delivery education to RRH Medical Group practices, as needed.

  • Monitors internal and external referrals to identify opportunities for increased utilization of RRH resources as well as address any issues that might arise during process.

  • Conducts, monitors and responds to SafeConnect incidents.

  • Represents social work services in hospital initiatives and committees as assigned.

  • Leads Peer Interview team.

  • Outpatient setting -supervises lethality assessments conducted by social workers and functions as a 9.45 Designee

  • Performs other related administrative and operational duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work.

Required Licensure / Certification Skills:

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.

  • Valid licensure with New York State Department of Education in Social Work

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
