Social Worker – Children in Care

Liquid Personnel is is seeking a dedicated and child-centered Social Worker to join the Children in Care team in Ipswich. This role is focused on securing permanency and providing high-quality support to children in care proceedings, as well as those in long-term placement.

What will your responsibilities be? 

  • Case Management: Act as the allocated social worker for children in active care proceedings and those in long-term care or transitioning to permanent alternative care.
  • Direct Work: Engage meaningfully with children to ascertain their lived experiences, wishes, and feelings. You will be responsible for undertaking life story work and producing high-quality life story books.
  • Care Planning: Write, review, and amend children’s care plans, ensuring they are tailored to the child's specific identity and developmental needs.
  • Reporting: Prepare professional reports for Children in Care (CiC) reviews and provide robust evidence/reports for Court as part of care proceedings.
  • Partnership Working: Work collaboratively with carers, parents, and the wider family network, as well as professionals including IROs, Guardians, Health, and Education.
  • Travel: Visit children in their placements, which often involves significant travel to rural locations. 

Qualifications and Experience:

Working Hours and Hybrid Pattern: 

  • Hybrid Working: Flexible working is supported; however, the expectation is to work from the office 3 days per week.
  • Office Base: Beacon House, White House Rd, Ipswich, IP1 5PB.
  • Contract: Full-time hours (37 hours per week).
