Business unit: Ogilvy Health

Location:Sydney

Employment type: Permanent

Be part of the largest integrated health communications agency in Australia.

Ogilvy Health is home to a team of health communicators who harness science and creativity to inspire hearts and minds. We are the architects of effective strategies that educate, accelerate change, and positively impact the lives of Australians. When you think of our clients, think various not-for-profits, health and medical research organisations, pharmaceuticals, medicines companies and medical devices.

Whether it be creative development, brand strategy, public affairs and government influence, public relations, influencer engagement, events and activations, social and digital strategies, we have it all, and we’re looking for a curious, brave, and enthusiastic mind who share our philosophy and wants to bring something unique to the table.

Your Home:

At Ogilvy Health, we bring impact to life.

We chase creative solutions to health challenges. In doing so, we deliver engaging and effective work that educates, influences policy, is culturally relevant, helps businesses grow and creates meaningful change in the lives of Australians.

Our deep sector expertise, combined with the broad capabilities of Ogilvy, allows us to see the bigger picture, connect the dots others miss, and design effective, evidence-based strategies that deliver tangible results.

Working in health, we value creativity grounded in insight and big, game-changing ideas, all executed beautifully in a largely regulated environment.

About the Role:

In health, we want to design and deliver more culturally relevant and creative campaigns that can be activated across a wide range of channels including earned and paid media, social and digital media, influencers and community, activations and events.

In joining us, you will be a driving force for making this happen.

Specifically, as a Junior Social Strategist, you'll collaborate to shape impactful social experiences for our clients. While you’ll still be keen to ideate on and develop content with our creative team, you’ll be leaning into driving social-led strategies that connect culture to deliver patient impact.

While some health experience (or a lot) would be great, you don’t need to tick that box. We’re fortunate at Ogilvy Health to work closely alongside the crew at Ogilvy PR, who work with some of the biggest brands in the world to deliver earned-led creativity that drives real brand and business impact.

However, a deep desire to dive into health and grow your expertise is a must.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the development and execution of cutting-edge social media strategies, transforming client objectives into dynamic and engaging digital campaigns.
  • Be hands-on across the entire campaign lifecycle, from ideation and meticulous setup to real-time monitoring, flawless execution, robust reporting, and continuous optimisation.
  • Leverage your fluency in social platforms and tools (e.g., Google Trends, Brandwatch, CreatorIQ) to analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and cultural shifts, turning data into actionable insights that fuel your strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and oversee impactful influencer engagement strategies and community management initiatives, building genuine connections with talent agencies, creators, and online communities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with account teams and wider agency specialists to ensure social strategies are deeply integrated into broader communication plans, driving consistent brand messaging and measurable results.
  • Act as a trusted digital and social point person for clients, guiding them on best practices, optimising their presence, and ensuring their social content aligns perfectly with overarching brand goals.
  • Contribute your expert social and influencer insights to new business pitches, helping to secure exciting opportunities and expand Ogilvy's impact.
  • Work with our senior social strategists and specialists, publicists, and agency partners to ideate and personally produce planned and reactive content for client social platforms and earned media.

What you'll bring:

  • You have proven experience as a Junior Social Strategist or similar role within an agency or in-house environment, with a portfolio showcasing impactful, creative, and data-driven social campaigns.
  • You have a deep, intuitive understanding of the evolving social media landscape, platform nuances, and a passion for culture – from pop culture phenomena to broader societal discourse – that informs your strategic thinking.
  • You are proficient in social listening, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Brandwatch, CreatorIQ, Google Trends, Roy Morgan) to unearth deep audience insights and measure campaign effectiveness.
  • You are an effective visual designer and a skilled user of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • You have mastered native creator tools on major platforms, including Instagram (Reels) and TikTok
  • You’re able to work quickly to capitalise on breaking news, memes, and trends
  • You have a deep understanding of social creativity and what works on different platforms
  • You are a natural collaborator and connector who excels at building strong relationships with clients, internal teams, influencers, and external partners. You are a 'people person' who listens and leads with empathy.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate complex strategies clearly, present confidently, and adapt your message to diverse audiences.
  • You're not afraid to have a say, contributing to industry discussions through internal channels, trade media, or personal platforms.
  • You’re hungry for health – ready to learn all you can about different disease states, systemic issues, behavioural theory – and apply your skills in every way you can to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Australians.
