As a SoC Functional Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Intel's System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and execute functional validation for integrated SoCs, focusing on IP integration, IP interactions, and system-level features.
  • Apply hardware and software validation tools and methodologies to ensure comprehensive coverage while meeting performance, power, and area goals.
  • Review and assess proposed design changes to evaluate their impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
  • Develop SoC validation methodologies, create detailed test plans, and collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize designs.
  • Perform silicon debug to identify root causes, analyze complex failures, and resolve functional and triage issues for SoC designs.
  • Test interaction between various SoC features utilizing validation infrastructure to ensure system readiness.
  • Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure including performance monitors, behavioral checkers, and test environments for validation testing.
  • Publish validation reports summarizing activities, results, and insights, while communicating findings to critical teams.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to refine debug processes, validation strategies, and methodologies for SoC interfaces.
  • Generate test content to enhance specific IP interactions using tools such as microcode patches, firmware updates, or custom OS builds.
  • Engage in multiple product lifecycle phases, performing bug hunts and validation in diverse environments including simulation, emulation, and FPGAs.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.  Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
  • 1+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
    • Proficiency in Python scripting and object-oriented programming principles.
    • Experience with debugging tools and methodologies.
    • Fundamental understanding of SoC architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Advance English level.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and kernel-level debugging.
  • Knowledge of SoC/CPU architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Experience with validation, troubleshooting, and debugging complex SoC problems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or C+.
  • Experience with hardware testing tools including JTAG and ITP.
  • Exposure to technology domains such as PCIe, RAS, Manageability, Memory, Artificial Intelligence, and Security.
  • Hands-on experience with container environments, OS debug, and driver development in Windows and/or Linux.
