How Will You Make an Impact?

As a Scientist III, Molecular Biology at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will help plan and support scientific projects that lead to new product introductions (NPI). Based in our Singapore R&D department, you will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Your diligent approach, paired with technical knowledge, will help you succeed in the fast-moving biotechnology field. You will play a key role in providing meticulous, high-quality results that meet project schedules and business goals.

What will you do?

  • Develop DNA microarray assays and applications for launching new products while supporting existing products already available on the market.
  • Independently build and complete experiments, troubleshoot, analyze data, interpret results, and maintain detailed records.
  • Write procedures, protocols, and reports.
  • Exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Recommend and implement internal process, procedure, or product changes.
  • Lead training and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and external quality standards.

How will you get here?

Education/Experience

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or similar (at upper second class level) with 4 years’ experience, or Master’s degree with 2-3 years’ experience, or Ph.D fresh graduate.
  • Experience with basic lab techniques, including nucleic acid isolation, nucleic acid hybridization, PCR, and enzyme characterization.
  • Experience with molecular in vitro diagnostics assays is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO13485 is an advantage.

  • Proficient with word processing, graphing, presentation, and spreadsheet programs.
