Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is looking to hire a Sr. Member of Technical Staff - Process Engineering to support the Essex, VT Fab 9 Post Fab facility across a variety of SBT (Scan Bake Tape) and DSP (Dice Sort Pick) equipment and state of the art products (Commercial and Automotive RF Mixed Signal, Silicon Photonics) in both Wafer and Package forms.  This candidate will have the primary responsibility of new process and tool qualifications, manufacturing systems, enablement, and integration.  This role is fully on site, Monday through Friday.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates, analyzes, and reviews technical charts
  • Develops and modifies process formulations, methods and controls to meet quality standards
  • Establishes SOPs (Standard operating process) and FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis) for related processes
  • Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology specifications
  • Drives CIP (continuous improvement plans) to improve process performance indices
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to deliver organizational goals
  • Work and collaborate on other projects and/or assignments as needed
  • Initiative and creativity result in a high degree of innovation while showing the capacity to solve major problems of an advanced complexity affecting Post Fab and businesses.
  • Solves complex, novel, and non-recurring problems
  • Leads complex, strategic, and business critical projects or initiatives
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced staff; influences others as a technical leader.
  • Participates in and leads meetings with cross-functional teams across sites
  • Initiates projects with suppliers in a very complex environment
  • Displays mastery and breadth of a technical discipline and is recognized within the company as an authority in SBT and DSP

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or related field
  • Experience - BS + 8-10 years of experience OR MS + 7 or more years' experience or PhD + 5 or more years' experience
  • Travel <5% of travel required
  • Fluency in English language – both written & verbal
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor SBT and DSP processes
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Fabrication
  • Excellent communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Education - Master of Science Degree in technical or related field
    • Experience - MS + 5 years OR PhD + 3-4 years
    • Lean tools skills to remove waste, standardize, and sustain improvements
    • Team player with positive attitude

    Expected Salary Range

    $118,000.00 - $210,000.00

    The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
