Department Overview
The Non-Volatile Engineering Group at Micron contributes to the development of memory products recognized for their outstanding die size, performance, reliability, and power. Our NVEG organization focuses on advancing non-volatile memory technologies such as NAND. Our primary mission is to innovate and develop pioneering solutions that boost the performance and reliability of non-volatile memory products. This position is intended to be part of Micron's Technical Leadership Program (TLP). This is a career path for individuals seeking to advance as technical leaders and industry innovators. TLP members are expected to influence, lead, and mentor others.
Position Overview
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff in NVEG at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring technical teams, crafting and analyzing digital circuits used in the development of memory products. This is a highly technical role with supplemental leadership attributes. In this position you will support the efforts of groups inside of our NVE-DE organization such as Project Teams and other Functional Teams (Analog, Core, Datapath, etc) as well as external teams such as Product Engineering, Device, System, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing. These collaborative efforts will proactively design products to optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer happiness are achieved.
Responsibilities
Lead and prioritize logic‑design projects, manage team resources, and serve as primary communication point for NAND product development; Track project progress, deliver status updates to leadership, and oversee code reviews and technical decision‑making.
Craft the on-chip memory controller for non-volatile memory products, design validation at block, subsystem, and fullchip level
Participate in new circuit conception and design as needed
Define and build design architecture spec documents for the new features
Assist in design and development of schematics and/or RTL blocks
Manage RTL and gate‑level verification processes, including bring‑up, simulation, post‑layout verification, and feature‑level verification planning
Collaborate with Product Engineering on validation plans, silicon results, and design validation activities including tape‑out and qualification
Establish and document best‑known design and verification practices across the department.
Minimum Qualifications
13+ years of relevant experience working directly with memory product design
BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Deep knowledge and understanding of high-speed circuit performance, physical design flows, power and area optimization, and chip architecture/floorplanning
Ability to interpret device and system specifications to produce required functionality
Familiarity with full-custom EDA tools (e.g. cadence, hspice, XA, verilog), plus Python and Matlab for design flow automation
Preferred Qualifications
PHD in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience in mentorship and/or training of junior engineers, building training plans, and supporting skill development of others
Recognized contributions to industry standards, patents, and published technical papers
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$159,000.00 - $347,000.00 a yearAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
