Working across multiple project teams, your role as an On Call/Part Time SME Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Specialist will include supporting multi-disciplinary teams, engaging with clients, and supporting our independent engineering and owner’s advisory practice areas. You will be joining a motivated and dedicated team of industry experts to deliver high-value technical diligence support and offer solutions for mitigating technical and commercial challenges encountered by our clients. As an On Call/Part Time SME Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Specialist, you will support our technical advisory practice in providing excellence in independent engineering and owner’s advisory, supporting project developers, investors and financiers across the US solar industry and globally.
Our Technical Advisory team works collaboratively with our Power and Gas Market team, Environmental and Planning team, Transportation and Sustainability team, and the greater ICF to provide comprehensive advisory services including strategic, investment, and portfolio management; operational planning; market development; policy analysis; regulatory support; and customer engagement. Consultants at ICF integrate industry experience and advanced consulting and analytical skills.
This On Call/Part Time role requires at least 15 years of experience in one or more of the following areas, or collectively across multiple areas:
Renewable Generation including Solar, Energy Storage, and other Renewable Technologies.
Industrial Facility Operations & Maintenance programs.
Project Financing Due Diligence for Independent Power Producers (IPP).
Evaluation of Operating Generation Assets, including performance, O&M, and asset management.
Stakeholder and Project Participant Engagement.
Thermal Power Generation including Both Coal-fired and Gas-fired technologies.
Bio-Fuel Engineering with an Emphasis on Production Facilities.
Biomass and/or Waste-to-Energy Technologies.
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Power Generation Facilities.
Consultant will work on call/part time either remotely (United States) or from our Golden, CO office, and travel occasionally depending on engagements and needs.
This position is paid hourly - pay rate range for this specific role is
$91.53 - $140.00 per hour.

You will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, potentially working with all levels of staff. You will have an opportunity to apply your experience and knowledge, lead and provide technical input to major projects, and interact with experts and clients in the field, while building content knowledge and consulting skills. Your key areas of focus and support will include:
Technical review of energy project Operations and Maintenance Agreements.
Technical review of energy project Asset Management Agreements.
Review of historical energy project and portfolio performance.
Review of energy project financial pro-forma models.
Development and review of energy project operations and maintenance budgets.
Development of client relationships and business development.
Maintain internal standards of practice for O&M and AM review.
Assists in identifying, qualifying, and supporting the pursuit of both follow-on work and new business opportunities.
Provide peer review for O&M and AM sections within the IE Reports completed by other team members.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, sciences, or finance related field.
15+ years of experience working on project due diligence, O&M, and asset management related issues in a power industry role. Experience to include 5+ years in outward facing client engagement.
Expertise in industry best practices for energy project and portfolio asset management and operations and maintenance.
Demonstrated experience delivering consulting solutions to utilities, IPP firms, electrical cooperatives, municipal power authorities and/or other stakeholders that utilize electrical generating technologies.
Demonstrated understanding of current power related technical diligence and finance issues including utility economics, inside the fence power plant construction and/or operations, project integration and valuation; and/or other technical areas of expertise related to generating technologies.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Master's in engineering, science, finance or related field.
25+ years of experience working on project due diligence, O&M, and asset management related issues in a power industry role. Experience to include 5+ years in outward facing client engagement.
Experience working effectively with technical and commercial business stakeholders, including strong facilitation skills.
Independent engineering / finance due diligence experience.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
