The opportunity

QBE Europe is current recruiting an SME Account Manager position on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract within our UK Distribution team to support our sustained and continued growth plans. In this role, you will act as a business partner with assigned intermediaries to profitably grow the SME business and meet sales / growth targets across multiple UK product lines.

Your role

  • Ownership of key strategic partner broker and Network accounts and identify opportunities for growth in line with UK Strategy & annual targets.

  • Develop and strengthen key broker relationships and improve insight of broker portfolio/new business opportunities as well pipeline development with key strategic partners including Networks. Build and maintain the market reputation and presence of business area with brokers and business introducers.

  • Work with the Strategic Distribution team to develop business with Strategic Partners & Networks through a combination of telephone-based management, F2F Account management and structured engagement plans & regular communication.

  • Work with and support Underwriting teams and the SME Business Development Coordinator to develop and monitor financial plans with all key Strategic Partners in line with overall SME business plan.

  • Manage tender opportunities across all product lines, by identifying key brokers and align to QBE’s underwriting appetite.

  • Develop and share MI data and use to influence business decisions considering the Broker Distribution / Development plan.

  • Work with stakeholders, and using e-trading platforms, to ensure delivery of business plan and generate solutions where barriers to achieving business plan.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including brokers, industry bodies, business partners and colleagues to support constructive, mutually beneficial relationships, networking internally and externally.

  • Review existing portfolios and recommend strategies for increased growth.

  • Gather market intelligence on competitors and competitor products.

  • Participate in all relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.

About you

  • Understanding of commercial insurance products

  • Significant experience in customer service or account management.

  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
