SIU Operations Specialist
$23.82 – $29.54 minimum starting pay
Job Level: Individual Contributor
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
What You Will Be Doing:
Support SIU operations by managing daily investigative workflows, reviewing and triage claim alerts, and ensure timely identification and assignment of items requiring SIU involvement. Support Claims leadership by coordinating administrative activities, managing system access, assisting with calls, and organizing team events.
What We're Looking For:
- Typically requires at least two years of professional experience demonstrating competence and organization in managing projects, programs, and interactions with others.
- Performs investigations as directed, including ISO, NICB, TLO, internet, and similar searches.
- Claims department experience with detailed knowledge of department policies, procedures, and operations is typically preferred.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Demonstrates ability to research, analyze, and make decisions to process non-routine claims data.
- Exhibits superior interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Claims, other departments, and external customers.
- Demonstrates analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Works independently, manages time effectively, maintains schedules, and meets deadlines.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
