Job Summary:
The Site Survey & Inspection Technician supports daily field and operational activities across residential solar projects. This role is responsible for three primary functions:
Supervising the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials required for solar energy system installations
Coordinating and facilitating inspections with customers, internal teams, utilities, and local jurisdictions
Performing preliminary site surveys to confirm installation feasibility and validate structural and electrical conditions
This position plays a key role in minimizing delays, maintaining project readiness, and supporting safe, compliant, and efficient installation execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure solar installation materials — including PV modules, inverters, electrical BOS, and racking BOM components — are available, organized, and distributed accurately to job sites
Coordinate and schedule inspections for residential solar projects; serve as a liaison with customers, AHJs, utilities, and internal partners
Perform preliminary site surveys to assess structural fit, roof conditions, and electrical infrastructure in alignment with design requirements
Document and report site conditions with clarity and accuracy to support project planning and field decision-making
Maintain organized records, track deadlines, and support continuous improvement of material handling and inspection workflows
Assist with general field and operational needs to ensure smooth project progression
Required Skills:
Knowledge of solar energy system components and construction materials
Experience with inventory control, material staging, and logistics coordination
Familiarity with building and electrical codes and jurisdictional compliance expectations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, including interaction with customers and regulatory authorities
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Minimum Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
3–5 years of experience in material management, logistics, procurement, or construction support; renewable energy experience preferred
Experience coordinating material deliveries or inventory for construction or installation projects
Familiarity with PV modules, inverters, electrical BOS, and racking BOM components
Experience with site assessments, zoning research, or regulatory coordination preferred
Prior interaction with permitting agencies, building departments, or utility companies is highly beneficial

Salary Range:
$72,420.00 - $115,870.00*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
