We are currently seeking an experienced Site Selection Manager to join our dynamic Study Start-Up team. This leadership role is dedicated to overseeing the delivery, consistency, and continuous improvement of global site selection services within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Site Selection Leads to ensure timely and high-quality delivery across multiple studies.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and study oversight to meet ICON/client expectations, KPIs, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify risks and barriers to success, implementing strategic mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop high-performing staff; manage resource allocation, succession planning, and staff retention.
  • Carry out full line management duties including appraisals, goal setting, performance reviews, and personal development planning.
  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and high performance through clear strategic direction and process improvement.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Site Selection within specific areas (e.g., therapeutic expertise, geographic regions, strategic partnerships).
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce timelines, and increase data quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Feasibility, Study Start-Up, Business Development, and Project Management to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Review and approve site selection strategies including site profiles, ranking plans, and protocol-specific feasibility materials.
  • Ensure accurate, high-quality data capture and documentation across systems during the Site Selection process.
  • Prepare and present evidence-based site and country recommendations to Sponsors and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings, providing strategic insights and serving as the voice of the Site Selection group.
  • Ensure financial oversight by managing hours, budgets, and timelines for all Site Selection-related services.

What You Bring to ICON:

  • Substantial experience in clinical research, with specific expertise in site selection, feasibility, and/or study start-up.
  • Previous experience managing teams and delivering against complex global projects.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a matrix environment.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with metrics-driven performance management and continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to lead change, foster innovation, and create a culture of accountability and growth.
