Job Description

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for developing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs, along with related policies and procedures, within an assigned region.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements


What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

  • Inspect manufacturing facilities to identify safety risks

  • Assist in the development, enforcement and implementation of EHS policies and procedures

  • Prepare, schedule, and conduct safety trainings and new hire safety orientations

  • Supervise and coordinate all safety training programs and related media to promote safety awareness, teach safety practices, and develop tools for tracking required training

  • Review and investigate all safety incidents, including injuries, near misses, and property damage

  • Collaborate with front-line supervisors to develop corrective actions based on incident investigations

  • Works with Human Resources on matters related to Worker’s Compensation, drug and alcohol testing programs, and disciplinary actions concerning safety violations

  • Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor evaluating hazardous conditions and practices

  • Manage the online inspection platform (Safety Culture/iAuditor) for assigned facilities

  • Oversees chemical management program


Qualifications

  • Associates Related Field required

  • 10+ Years practical experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment required

  • Extensive knowledge Health and Safety Policies, procedures, and regulations required

  • OHST, ASP, SMS Safety certifications preferred

  • Track record of leading EHS audit programs, awareness, and engagement programs required

  • Experience with different manufacturing and fabrication trades such as welding, machining, assembly, painting, warehousing required


Soft Skills

  • Bilingual English / Spanish Required


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
