Summary:

The Site People Operations Leader will serve as the strategic HR business partner to the Site Leader, supporting a manufacturing facility of approximately 400 employees, including 200 represented employees. This role is responsible for driving HR strategy, fostering a positive employee experience, and ensuring compliance with labor agreements and employment laws. The Site People Operations Leader will provide leadership in talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational development, while partnering closely with exempt staff and union representatives to achieve business objectives. Additionally, this role will lead efforts to maintain positive employee relations and proactively implement non-union relations strategies. The role will model behaviors that align with the company’s Core Values and coaches/influences others to do the same, especially leaders and managers.

Job responsibilities included are multiple aspects of the employee lifecycle, including, but not limited to: recruiting, employee relations, labor relations and union experience – including collective bargaining, training and development, performance management, compensation, benefits, etc. Utilize knowledge of local divisional/functional business objectives and functional HR knowledge and expertise to support and advise local leaders and managers on HR-related issues, including policies, processes, programs, etc., to help meet local business goals and objectives.

Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities Include:

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Site Leader and leadership team, aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
  • Develop and implement site-level HR strategies to support operational excellence and workforce engagement.

 Employee Relations & Labor Management

  • Manage relationships with union representatives and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Lead resolution of complex employee relations issues and provide guidance to managers on performance and conduct matters.
  • Drive proactive non-union relation strategies by fostering strong employee engagement and addressing concerns before escalation.

Talent Management & Development

  • Support exempt staff through coaching, career development, and succession planning.
  • Drive initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent for both represented and non-represented roles.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR processes including onboarding, performance management, and policy administration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

Culture & Engagement

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 5%, business dependent

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including some experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leadership.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

The following are preferred for the role

  • Master’s degree in Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of labor relations and experience working with unionized workforces.

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $95,500 - $139,700

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
