The purpose of this position is to provide electrical support for the mobilisation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilisation of Heidelberg Materials Australia’s Mobile Concrete Plant fleet. The role ensures compliance with all relevant Mines and Quarry Work Health and Safety Regulations, AS/NZS standards, and company policies, while maximizing operational efficiency and safety. The employee must be able to travel to remote locations for multiple days or weeks as required.

Site Mobilisation & Maintenance Electrician – National Mobiles

Heidelberg Materials Australia is seeking an experienced Electrician to support the mobilisation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilisation of our Mobile Concrete Plant fleet across Australia. This role involves regular travel to remote sites and requires strong technical capability, safety focus, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, commission, fault-find & maintain electrical systems on mobile concrete plants.
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000, 3012, 3760 and Mines & Quarry WHS regulations.
  • Develop ITPs/ITCs, update drawings, complete SAP maintenance tasks, and maintain logbooks.
  • Recommend improvements to electrical design, including plug‑and‑play solutions.
  • Identify and raise defects and ensure accurate documentation and traceability.

What you need to be successful:

  • A‑Grade Electrician, minimum 5 years’ trade experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards and electrical installations in industrial/mobile plant environments.
  • Experience with batching systems (CommandBatch or similar) desirable.
  • Ability to read schematics, perform redlines, and produce ITPs/ITCs.
  • Exposure to VSDs, soft starters, cameras, and quarry/concrete/asphalt plants (advantageous).
  • First Aid & LVR, with HV Switching, Confined Space, or EWP desirable.
  • Practical, safety‑driven, adaptable, and confident working independently.
  • Comfortable travelling to remote sites for extended periods.
  • Strong communicator with solid problem‑solving and prioritisation skills.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
