Site Manger I Job Summary
The Site Manager will directly manage the self-performing staff/subcontractors while they are engaged in the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all project related systems. The Site Manager will report to the Construction Manger while on the project and will be a major contributor in project preparation, realization of installation process according to COS process, creating safe working environment, assuring quality of installation, improving processes, and high-level reporting. The Site Manager must possess the abilities to perform the key responsibilities listed below. You will be the primary point of contact for electrical subcontractors, providing clear and detailed communications to the internal project staff, subcontractors, and customer. Typical project length is between 6-24 months, in which you will be personally responsible for tracking electrical progress and quality, forecasting schedule adherence, maintaining redline updates, and resolving or escalating any discrepancies in electrical design, customer standards, provided drawings or other information. You are expected to be initiative-taking in reporting requirements, resolving logistical, technical, or organizational problems, and ensuring effective communication with all required parties regarding progress, out of scope work, non-conformities, and all other site related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the on-site installation team on large and complex projects.
- Draw up the project “installation” project plan containing objectives, organization, planning, and cost calculations in consultation with Construction/Project Manager.
- Monitor and manage quality, time, costs, and provision of information.
- Work with the subcontractors/vendors to develop and maintain schedule for their respective work.
- Identify and analyze (potential) problems / risks and opportunities and initiate adequate corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage the interaction of site work with all stakeholders.
- Involvement in developing the start-up and commissioning plans. Manage and schedule the commissioning process.
- Manage a strong HSE / EHS environment (Beyond Zero) between trades, client(s), design which adheres to project and OSHA safety requirements.
- Review of pre-construction activities, scope review, Trade partner alignment (reaching out to trade disciplines for work specific tasks).
- Supervise the construction of process, electrical, I&C, LSS, architectural and structural scope CSA/MEP disciplines)
- Ensuring project deliverables are established, executed, and closed.
- Review and approve PPT, JHA, SIPP, SOR, Hot work permitting (safety field reporting).
- Lead teams by motivation and direction typically through multiple site superintendents, and functional managers by driving a successful project delivery process.
- Interface with factory engineers and managers of operations, to coordinate construction within live facilities without impact to production (ITP prevention).
- Manage the daily activities of a client and contractor workforce of managers, engineers, designers, and trades, to meet or exceed all schedules for project deliverables.
- Conduct periodic project site inspections.
- Solve problems in a timely manner while coordinating with appropriate stakeholders.
- Coordinate as-built drawings with the field and engineering teams.
- Interface between engineering and construction operations for resolution of technical issues related to all disciplines.
- Manage quality control efforts throughout the duration of the project.
- Complete the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that HSE, quality, financial, risk management; business and policy expectations are met.
- Advise and manage the contracts of Electrical subcontractors.
- Ensure the C05 processes within the project.
- Initiate improvements of the site management process.
- Perform quality checks on installation and related processes.
- Properly report to Construction Manager, PM, and head office
- Lead team of (senior) supervisors.
- Manage and generate punch list items via Procore
- Assist with the creation of Step, Pre-Activity, and Tie-in Plans
- Ability to manage self-perform installations with mechanical, electrical, and steel erection scope

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and AHJ requirements, with the ability to train others
- Ability to read, understand, red line, and challenge electrical layout drawings, standards, and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control and motor wiring circuit problems.
- Higher level of education (preferably technical)
- Knowledge of Vanderlande equipment and systems
- Safety awareness for assigned scope

Salary range:
This is a full-time position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Salary range for this position is CAD$90,000 to CAD$100,000.
