The Site Management and Monitoring Intern assists with administrative study activities.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Assists in supporting SMM under supervision for various administrative study activities.
  • Support in collection and tracking of documents
  • Support the correct set-up and maintenance of the local eTMF and ISF including document tracking in accordance with ICH-GCP and local requirements.
  • Support in ensuring essential documents are uploaded in a timely manner to maintainthe eTMF “Inspection Readiness”.
  • Support in ensuring that study documents are ready for final archiving and completion of local part of the eTMF and supports the CRA in the close out activities for the ISF.
  • Support production and maintenance of study documents, including template and version compliance.
  • Support populating and maintenance of information in AstraZeneca tracking and communication tools (e.g. CTMS such as VCV, SharePoint, etc) and support others in the usage of these systems (with the exception of countries where there is a specific role dedicated to set up and update the systems).
  • Support with contract preparation
  • Support with Health Care Organisations (HCO)/Health Care Professionals (HCP) payments in accordance with local regulations.
  • Support management, coordination and tracking of study materials and equipment.
  • Support coordination of administrative tasks according to company policies and SOPs.
  • Support in the preparation of internal and external meetings e.g., study team meetings, Monitors’ meetings, Investigators’ meetings. Liaises with internal and external participants and/or vendors, in line with international and local codes.
  • Support preparing, contributing and distributing presentation material for meetings, newsletters and web- sites.
  • Support layout and language control, copying and distribution of documents.
  • Support printing and distribution of documents such as letters and meeting minutes, and for handling and archiving of study/country related e-mails.
  • Support compliance with local, national and regional legislation, as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
  • Organizational and administrative skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate science program, a post-graduate clinical research program, or a Master Biotechnology program is desirable
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in an international team environment
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, excellent attention to detail
  • Team oriented and flexible
  • Integrity and high ethical standards
  • Available to work from May 2026 to August 2026
  • Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026.
  • Available to work full-time for duration of the internship

What to Expect:

This role is a 4-month paid contract position, which starts in June 2026. Our position will be based in our Mississauga head office and allow for flexible working arrangements working both onsite (2-3 times per week) and virtually.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from $41,495.20 to $54,462.45. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
