What You Will Achieve

The Site Leader oversees all aspects of the Pearl River facility, including production and supporting functions (Engineering, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Procurement, Technical Services, Operational Excellence, Px, Digital, Organizational Learning, Regulatory Affairs, Occupational Health, and Finance). This role ensures the site meets its supply commitments, upholds Pfizer's quality and compliance standards, and achieves financial targets.

The Site Leader also serves as part of the Global Biotech Operations Leadership Team, collaborating with leaders from other Pfizer Biotech sites to shape and execute global manufacturing strategy. Pearl River is a key part of Pfizer’s global network, and this role is essential to its continued success.

As the Pearl River PGS site is co-located on a campus managed by PharmaSci/R&D, this role plays an important liaising and cooperating with other campus partners.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Make effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact both short- and long-term site goals.

  • Create, establish, and maintain an environment that encourages teamwork, empowers colleagues, and nurtures the Pearl River culture for ongoing commercial and clinical supply.

  • Take an active leadership role in representing the site and company within the local community.

  • Contribute as part of the Global Biotech Operations leadership team to form, input to, and execute strategies that optimize Pfizer’s global manufacturing network.

  • Provide support to, and learn from, other sites in the global network to optimize overall performance across the entire network.

  • Ensure that plant operations comply with corporate standards as well as FDA, European and international regulations.

  • Develop strategies to maximize the effective use of Pfizer’s capital assets at Pearl River.

  • Represent the site and the company in the local community as needed.

 

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • BA/BS in chemistry, engineering, or related field with at least 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including at least 5 years leading a major plant or quality operations (over 100 employees) or MBA/MS with at least 10 years of experience or PhD/JD with at least 7 years of experience or MD/DVM with at least 5 years of experience

  • Strong knowledge of GMPs and regulatory requirements

  • Proven leadership and management skills, including developing strong leaders

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to address and resolve technical challenges

  • Skilled in using financial analysis for decision-making

  • Proven track record of planning and achieving complex organizational goals, with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain expertise

  • Compliance knowledge

  • Experience with financial controls for site management

Nice-to-Have 

  • Experience in navigating labor relations

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
