Role Overview
As Site Director, you are the most senior leader at our Enschede manufacturing facility and fully accountable for the overall performance, culture, and results of the site. You will set the tone for operational excellence, safety, quality, and employee engagement, while delivering against strategic objectives aligned with the company’s European Supply Chain strategy.
This role combines strong people leadership with ownership of end-to-end plant operations, financial performance, and continuous improvement. You will be a key member of the European Supply Chain Leadership Team, playing a critical role in driving supply chain success across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Culture
Act as the senior leader onsite, setting a strong safety-first culture and driving high employee engagement
Serve as Site Safety Champion, leading deployment of the company’s EHS programs
Foster a high-performance environment that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Lead and develop a strong site leadership team, building talent capable of progressing across the region
Operations & Performance
Full accountability for site operations including Manufacturing, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, and Administration
Ensure the Dutch manufacturing operation consistently meets service, cost, quality, and safety targets
Develop and execute short- to medium-term (up to 3-year) site plans aligned with company strategy
Own the site budget, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and capital investment projects
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Serve as Site Quality Champion, ensuring effective deployment of QA programs
Maintain all required permits, certifications, and regulatory compliance (e.g. ISO standards)
Drive plant quality KPIs through SOP adherence, training, and operational discipline
Continuous Improvement
Act as Site Continuous Improvement Champion, deploying Lean / CI initiatives across Quality, EHS, OEE, and Cost
Deliver measurable improvements and strategic cost savings through CI programs
Stakeholder & Employee Relations
Build strong relationships with suppliers, local authorities, and the Works Council
Handle employee relations topics with a focus on trust, engagement, and a positive team-based environment
Ensure full compliance with HR and administrative requirements
Communicate effectively at all levels, from shop-floor teams to senior business leaders
Education & Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business (MBA preferred)
Minimum 10 years of management experience, including 3+ years in a senior plant leadership role (Plant Manager / Site Director)
Extensive experience in manufacturing operations, including:
Proven leadership experience in high-volume, high-mix, multi-shift manufacturing environments
Strong financial and commercial business acumen
Experience working in matrix organizations with complex objectives
Preferred
Lean / Six Sigma certification with hands-on CI leadership experience
SAP experience (production and inventory control)
Strong proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
