Position Overview:

The Single-Family Professional-level position is responsible for supporting the end-to-end scoping process for counterparty risk reviews within Single-Family Acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of mortgage or financial data experience, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and possess the diplomacy required to interact with a variety of internal and external business partners. This role requires a proactive, accountable, and approachable individual who can drive actionable outcomes, meet deadlines, ensure quality and consistency, and deliver process improvements.

The Counterparty Operational Risk team is responsible for managing third party compliance and operational risk for the division

Your Impact:

  • Risk Identification & Evaluation

    • Contribute to building and maintaining processes that identify risk using data from collaborative dashboards.

    • Incorporate contributing risks into a overall risk evaluation.

    • Gather feedback from business units to generate a comprehensive baseline risk evaluation.

    • Evaluate and promote opportunities to leverage AI to standardize output and improve efficiency.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Conduct calls with business units to align on goals, set expectations, and ask probing questions to gather relevant information.

    • Follow up with business units to ensure feedback is received, documented, and properly stored.

    • Send formal engagement letters to initiate communication with counterparties, customizing templates to ensure accuracy and professionalism.

  • Information Gathering & Documentation

    • Provide tailored questionnaires to counterparties for efficient information collection.

    • Send clear, concise information requests to gather all relevant data ahead of exams.

    • Follow up with counterparties on outstanding items.

    • Support internal documentation requirements.

  • Collaboration & Process Management

    • Collaborate on comprehensive testing matrices to organize test scenarios, track progress, and upload to repositories.

    • Rotationally support the Scoping Leads in all scoping activities, including counterparty risk analysis, drafting planning memos, engagement notifications, attachments, and testing matrices.

    • Facilitate the hand-off to Execution teams.

  • Process Improvement

    • Participate in process improvement projects, either by assignment or self-identified recommendations, to create efficiencies, promote appropriate use of AI, and standardize outputs.

  • Mailbox Management

    • Monitor and respond to emails in the shared mailbox with professionalism and within standard response timeframes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with mortgage originations and/or servicing or in a related financial analytical role.

  • Demonstrated experience in risk analysis, process management, and project management.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, and data visualization tools, such as Tableau.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with document management systems and secure data handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in counterparty risk management.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and process automation.

  • Project management certification or experience.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
