We’re looking for a curious, hands-on Simulator Engineering Technician to join our team supporting UAV simulators. You’ll learn how our training devices work end-to-end and build the practical skills to grow into a Simulator Engineer.
In this role, you’ll help us deliver world-class simulator training by keeping devices reliable, safe, and ready for use. Your work directly supports training quality, efficiency, and readiness at our training centre.
This opportunity is ideal for recent Engineering graduates (or candidates with a technical diploma/qualification and some practical experience) who want a structured pathway into simulator engineering. The position is based in the Al Dhafra Region (remote from major centres), so you’ll need a driving licence and be comfortable commuting or relocating closer to the airbase.
What you’ll do
Support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs).
Respond to flight crew and maintenance calls; complete daily readiness checks; support fly-outs as required; carry out scheduled preventive maintenance; and run Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) when needed.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device faults, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) issues.
Spot recurring issues, capture learnings, and help drive permanent fixes.
Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and ways of working.
With coaching and mentoring, share knowledge and support the technical development of the wider team.
Partner with specialists on complex issues requiring testing, troubleshooting, research, and design input.
Maintain and support the FSTD Operations Management System, including adopting processes and procedures as required.
Carry out minor software, hardware, and/or CDB updates when required.
Track consumables and tools, and raise requests to ensure maintenance and readiness activities can be completed.
Support logistics tasks such as annual inventories, reorganising stores, packing, and preparing items for shipment.
Build your expertise in one or more simulator systems (e.g., Visual, Motion, Flight Controls).
Workplace culture, health & safety, and environment:
Contribute to a positive, consistent workplace culture aligned to our mission, vision, guiding principles, and values.
Put safety first—follow occupational health and safety requirements and support associated reporting/metrics.
Support compliance and environmental activities aligned with the CAE Management System and global environmental policies.
Essential Qualifications
Technical college diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or an Aviation-related field.
Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
A customer-focused mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships.
Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and programming concepts.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of aircraft types is a plus.
