PURPOSE OF POSITION: An Assistant Guest Services Manager’s main objective is to support the Silver Baron front office managers and to ensure guest, owner, and employee satisfaction at the front desk by fulfilling the Deer Valley Difference. The position requires providing guest check-in/check-out and concierge services, advanced guest communication, extensive use of computer systems, managing employee schedules, support of all other departments, developing and maintaining professional relationships with homeowners, and the ability to work well in a team environment. We provide guests with unparalleled attention to detail and a genuine pledge to service excellence. 

   

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Check guests in and out of the lodge 

  • Provide guests with directions, information, and instructions 

  • Concierge duties, including making reservations for restaurants, transportation, childcare, and other activities 

  • Efficiently operate Maestro, Deer Valley Resorts property management system 

  • Assist guests with any reasonable request 

  • Assist in coordinating transportation by arranging guest pick-ups and drop offs  

  • Perform bell related duties, such as handling guest requests and assisting with luggage 

  • Settle guest balances upon departure according to established protocols 

  • Handle and complete cash and credit card lift ticket sales transactions daily 

  • Assist the front office with HOA billing 

  • Help the Guest Services Manager recruit, manage, train, motivate, supervise, schedule, and evaluate the performance of all the front of house staff 

  • Demonstrate proactive guest, owner, and employee problem resolution with urgency, respect, and empathy towards all issues presented, while maintaining communication with other departments as needed 

  • Ensure staff professionalism through coaching, adherence to dress codes, and maintaining uncluttered and well supplied workspaces, proper training materials, and clear channels of communication 

  • Work with the Guest Services Manager to develop processes and procedures to ensure smooth operation and flow for the front of house 

  • Be available to fill in as a front desk clerk, concierge, or bellstaff as needed 

  • Support manager in maintaining a high level of service to all guests 

  • Provide support to other departments as needed 

  • Assist in product ordering and inventory management 

  • Support in establishing and maintaining open and productive communication with other vendors, Deer Valley Resort departments, and lodging properties 

  • Offer input and suggestions to support improvement of the overall operation 

  • Handle cash transactions and manage employee gratuities 

  • Adhere to and enforce Deer Valley handbook guidelines for employee etiquette and performance 

  • Adhere to all system use policies (RTP, MaintainX, NORM, Maestro(PMS), Microsoft Suite, etc.)  

  • Manage and maintain SOPs and new policies as they are developed 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Previous travel, hospitality, and/or ski industry sales experience preferred 

  • Familiarity with Park City and property management systems preferred 

  • Staff leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience preferred 

  • Ability to interact professionally with guests, vendors, departments, and staff 

  • Possess strong organization and communication skills 

  • Understanding of guest service needs and strong attention to detail 

  • Excellent understanding of computers, systems, and guest service tools 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and self-motivate 

  • Must have a flexible schedule and be available for varied and extensive shifts as hours of operation and workload of the property dictate 

 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • Flex Year Round – may have periods of layoff or reduced hours 

 

PAY RATE: 

  • $24 – 27 per hour depending on experience
