Shipping & Receiving Coordinator (Maple Plain, MN)

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of products in a regulated medical device environment. This role plays a critical part in supporting customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Process customer and internal orders by accurately picking, packing, labeling, and preparing shipments for carrier pickup
  • Verify order accuracy, lot traceability, and documentation prior to shipment.
  • Ensure shipments meet regulatory, quality, and customer requirements
  • Coordinate with carriers to support timely delivery
  • Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing documentation
  • Perform system transactions in ERP to ensure accurate inventory records
  • Support inventory transfers to maintain proper stocking levels
  • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory activities
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies to management
  • Process returned products in accordance with RGA procedures
  • Complete required documentation for returned or nonconforming materials
  • Perform physical destruction of materials as required by procedure and regulatory standards
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with GMP, GTP, AATB, and internal SOP requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within distribution processes
  • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse environment

What will you need to be successful?

    Education

    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Associates degree is preferred.
    • 1+ years within a distribution environment
       

    Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment within a medical device or other regulated industry
    • Experience working in ERP systems (SAP, QAD, or similar) preferred
    • Experience supporting lot-controlled or traceable inventory strongly preferred

    Competences:

    • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to identify issues proactively and escalate appropriately
    • Team-oriented mindset with accountability for results

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the warehouse environment for extended periods

    Compensation

    The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $47,500 - $71,250.00 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew.  Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
