Data Centers

Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator plays a vital operational and customer-facing role within our 11-acre data center facility. This position blends high-touch customer service with hands-on shipping and receiving duties to ensure all inbound and outbound materials are processed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

The Coordinator is responsible for receiving large freight trucks, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other carrier deliveries, properly inventorying packages, and storing them at the dock until customers request delivery. A major component of the role is real-time interaction with customers to locate packages, coordinate delivery inside the facility, and provide timely, accurate support.

This role also includes dock space management, pallet jack and forklift operation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. The Coordinator will monitor the service management ticketing system for daily tasks, which may include customer requests, escorting, material handling, and operational support.

IMDC is seeking individuals who are energetic, customer-obsessed, eager to learn, and adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment. A strong sense of urgency, professionalism, and dedication to safety and service excellence is essential. This is a full-time shift position and may require working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process all incoming shipments, including large freight, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and third-party carriers.

  • Inventory and log all packages and ensure safe storage until customer delivery requests are received.

  • Provide real-time customer support to locate, identify, and deliver packages throughout the data center facility.

  • Manage dock space to ensure efficient flow, safety, and organization.

  • Coordinate outbound shipments and ensure proper documentation and handling.

  • Monitor the service management ticketing system for assigned daily tasks such as customer requests, escorting, and material handling.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving dock and surrounding work areas.

  • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts; follow proper safety procedures and equipment-handling guidelines.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, report malfunctioning equipment, and assist with scheduling preventive maintenance or repairs.

  • Support site recycling and refuse handling processes and coordinate pickups as needed.

  • Actively promote and uphold IMDC safety standards; adhere to all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Key Skills, Requirements & Competencies:

  • 0–1 years of experience in customer service, high-volume warehouse operations, or data center environments preferred, but not required.

  • Forklift experience preferred; must be able to operate a pallet jack. Forklift certification or ability to become certified required.

  • Strong customer service mentality — this is a customer-interactive, service-driven role.

  • Multitasking ability; comfort working across multiple systems and managing shifting priorities throughout the day.

  • High attention to detail and strong process discipline; ability to follow documented procedures and adhere to Iron Mountain safety standards.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including potential nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or background checks needed to support customer requirements.
