Shipping Coordinator

Job Description:

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities in the Transportation Department to ensure the most economical means of transportation are used for all inbound and outbound, domestic and international shipments. Works closely with the Purchasing Department, customer Service Department, Distribution Centers and Hanover Shipping Department to accomplish this goal.
Primary Duties

Assign nightly domestic Hanover Shipping Department work assignments and schedule outbound truckload shipments

Coordinate domestic and international shipments to assure efficient and timely flow of products to our customers, factories, and distribution centers. Assign export orders for packing, labeling and provide necessary information to International Customer Service.

Prepare airway bills or bill of ladings for shipments.

Coordinate with Freight Forwarders pickups for LTL shipments and make appointments for loading of shipping containers.

Set up and maintain all import and export files

Provide necessary paperwork to our broker for US Customs clearance.

Receive product into inventory from imported containers into Hanover and other DC’s.

Obtain truckload spot quotes and ensure ESAB is charged correctly for transportation services.

Arrange the pickup of raw materials from vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department.

Coordinate shipments of raw materials into the factories with outbound shipments to customers and the DCs to minimize carrier charges.

Process Returns from Customers

Assist International Customer Service in the preparation of import and export shipping documents

Audit freight invoices and reports to ensure carrier charges are in accordance with contracts, spot quotes and current tariff schedules

Trace, expedite and obtain proof of delivery on shipments as required.

Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently receiving minimum supervision.

General Administrative duties.
Qualifications

Associate degree Business/Administration

Three (3) Years clerical experience working in a fast-paced work environment
