Shift Production Supervisor

Job Summary

Position Title: Shift Production Supervisor

Reports To: Site Manager

Location: Gleason, Tennessee

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Directs and coordinates the activities of production shift operations so that production efforts are achieved in accordance with requirements. Ensure that all direct staff comply with the company Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.

JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS

  • Will work 2nd shift

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee activities of shift personnel that all work is done in a safe manner

  • Monitor production processes to ensure environmental compliance

  • Serve as management representative for all matters on “off” shifts

  • Coordinate production activities to meet production schedule

  • Assist personnel with trouble shooting production and maintenance difficulties 

  • Prepare and process production documents and maintain records

  • Ensure all production processes are performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures

  • Support personnel by ensuring all needed tools and supplies are in place

  • Oversee other projects and trials as directed by management

  • Report all activities and situations requiring management involvement

  • Assist in development of direct reports 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline or minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Proven ability to work with a diverse group of people

  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with co-workers during difficult situations

  • Demonstrated ability to influence other people’s behavior in a positive manner

  • Willingness to assist others perform their tasks

  • Good trouble shooting skills

  • Demonstrated ability to make a decision quickly and take control of a situation

  • Ability to record and report events

  • Proven strength in ability to prioritize on work through multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to take full responsibility of quality of the products that are produced during the shift in accordance with company processes and procedures

SPECIFIC ASPECTS

Physical demands require climbing stairs and ladders, ability to lift objects less than 70 lbs.;  Exposure to dust, noise, and seasonal temperature changes in an outdoor environment; Extensive walking (over even and uneven ground), standing, bending and lifting.
