What you will do- Plans, organizes, implements and controls activities and operations for a specific shift.
- Develops and maintains a competent, efficient, productive and quality conscious workforce by evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of department personnel according to the MLH value system.
- Assists in establishing and communicating appropriate quality standards for designated services and programs and implements procedures for measuring quality standards. Enforces and conducts in-services in safety and infection prevention policies and Environmental Services policies.
- Implements and administers new and revised programs and/or services established in the business plan with some day-to-day operations/problem solving.
Education/Formal Training Requirements- Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements- Required - Management 3-5 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of general housekeeping procedures as required through related experience.
- Ability to give instructions and apply basic management principles as acquired through supervisory experience.
- Skill and proficiency in oral and written communications similar to that achieved through secondary education.
- Analytical skills in administrative and technical problem solving related to management of personnel and care of physical plant.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
- Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own and other’s workflow.
- Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment.
Supervision Provided by this Position- Manages shift supervisors and overall responsibility for all shift Attendants.
Physical Demands- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
