About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Lead Engineering Technician, the P1 Engineering Technician is a shift-based role responsible for providing technical support for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment in the P1 API Plant, operating in compliance with HPRA, FDA, and cGMP standards.
How You Will Contribute:
- Provide flexible support across the Engineering Department and collaborate effectively with other departments.
- Promote lean maintenance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and optimizing new and existing maintenance routines within a cGMP environment.
- Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on production and utilities equipment.
- Proactively address and follow up on recurring technical issues.
- Record detailed maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system in compliance with regulatory and cGMP requirements.
- Execute work orders as scheduled through the computerized maintenance management system.
- Report maintenance activities daily during shift meetings, ensuring timely communication of issues and concerns.
- Participate in Safety and Environmental training programs and adhere to safe working practices.
- Maintain compliance with site procedures, policies, and cross-functional training initiatives.
- Mentor operations personnel and develop strong working relationships with all departmental customers on site.
- Respond to emergency ‘call outs’ according to a pre-defined rota when required.
- Drive and promote Takeda’s corporate values and foster a culture of safety awareness.
What You Bring to Takeda:
- A relevant qualification in electrical, instrument, or mechanical engineering, or completion of an apprenticeship in these disciplines with 5+ years of experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry post-qualification is preferred.
- Proven track record of high performance, delivering results, and sustaining best practices.
- Strong determination and drive to identify, develop, and implement future best practices.
- Interest in continuous improvement and problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong task orientation.
