Shift Driver Team Manager
Hinckley, Leicestershire
40 hours per week. Monday - Friday with Saturday morning cover on rota
£39,000 pa + benefits

Job Scale:
To effectively manage a team of administrators and drivers and ensure the Central Logistics Centre Transport Fleet function delivers agreed financial and customer service objectives. The role ensures all transport operations are conducted legally, safely, and in full compliance with Health & Safety obligations to drivers and members of the public.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
· Familiarity with relevant UK transport legislation, such as DVSA regulations and health and safety requirements
· Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contractual requirements within a logistics or transport environment.
· Awareness of company-specific compliance standards and KPIs
· Experience in driving operational efficiencies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
· Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
· Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals
· Proficient in Microsoft tools including 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams
Essential Requirements:
· Desirable to have acquired or working to transport manager CPC qualification.
Strong leadership skills to guide, motivate, and develop a team and drivers
A strong understanding of transport operations, including driver and vehicle compliance, route planning, and fleet management
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams, including conducting one-to-one meetings and managing performance
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a transport or logistics environment
Good verbal and written communication skills to deliver briefings, team talks, and safety updates effectively
Proven experience in managing driver and vehicle compliance, as well as health and safety requirements
An awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices within the transport and logistics sector
Key Dimensions:
· Direct reports
· Experience of managing teams at remote locations
· Experience of managing a mixed fleet of LGV’s and LCV’s, some of which are based remotely
· Working in a highly regulated / audited working environment
· Operating on own initiative as the site transport function lead
· Leading the Health and Safety agenda for the site
· Experience of temperature-controlled distribution
Manual Handling:
Manual handling tasks, such as lifting and bending, are key parts of this role. Cencora Alliance Healthcare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and ensuring the safety and well-being of all team members.
If a team member’s ability to carry out manual handling tasks changes due to health or other reasons, they should inform their people leader. This ensures that everyone can work safely and effectively.
Additional Information:
Some UK travel may be required occasionally with overnight stays.
Full driving licence required
There will be a requirement to travel to Link Points.
All people leader roles will need to be “on call” for emergency orders and alarm call outs.
All people leader roles will need to participate a weekend working rota.
An agreed element of flexibility may be required.
