Job Description

1.1          Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.

1.2          Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.

1.3          Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.

1.4          Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.

1.5          Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, General communication, etc.).

1.6          Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. 

1.7          Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.

1.8          Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.

1.9          Motivates and coaches’ employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.  Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

1.10       Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility. 

1.11       Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers. 

1.12       Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system. 

1.1          Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements, and Plant Safety Rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment. 

1.2          Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

1.3          Maintain good housekeeping and 5S. 

1.4          Adhere to all Safety, Food Safety & Quality Management System standards, practices and requirements. 

1.5          Coordinate the full operation of the manufacturing process to produce plastic components in such a manner to attain optimum performance in the utilization of manpower, maintenance of quality levels, adherence to production schedules and employment of assets. 

1.6          Plan, organize and make work assignments to operators and setup personnel. 

1.7          Plan department activities based on production schedules to make optimum use of manpower and facilities. 

1.8          Coordinate and check setups, machine operation, initial production and the use of all safety equipment. 

1.9          Recommend and implement changes in operating procedures that will help to improve quality, lower costs, and increase productivity. 

1.10       Establish and maintain sound employee relations within the department. 

1.11       Encourage suggestions and ideas from operating personnel which could improve quality, lower costs, and improve productivity. 

1.12       Maintain conformance to work rules and regulations. Administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary and properly document. 

1.13       Perform employee performance appraisals. 

1.14       Develop positive attitude among employees regarding productivity, quality, and housekeeping. 

1.15       Implement required disciplinary action and all related documentation as needed. 

1.16       Ability to train and work well with others.    

Attend First Responder training and become certified

1.1          Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 

1.2          Maintain an attendance record within company guidelines and be willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

1.3          High school diploma or GED equivalency.  Read, write and speak English. 

1.4          Past experience/proven ability within the specified disciplines, with negative drug screen test results. 

1.5          Bachelor degree (B.A.) or equivalent knowledge in a manufacturing environment. 

1.6          Five to seven years manufacturing experience / training.  

1.7          Proficient computer knowledge, Word, Excel. 

1.8          Capable of Utilizing operating and support systems (JDE, Ignition, WebEFF, etc.). 

1.9          Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
