As the Payroll Team Lead, you will oversee all facets of our international payroll operations. This pivotal position leads the outsourced payroll function for Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, including the transition to our new global payroll outsource partner, Ramco. You will be responsible for ensuring employees across multiple jurisdictions compensated accurately and on time, while maintaining strict compliance with local, national, and international regulations.

What will you do?

We know the work we do is vital in assisting Aurecon's business globally. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
 

  • Oversee and review monthly, fortnightly, and adhoc pay runs, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in full compliance with requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly payroll reports, journals, and payroll balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage and develop the Aurecon Payroll team in Manila, ensuring effective delivery of payroll operations across the organisation, adherence to SLAs, and strong relationships with the global managed payroll service provider.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and change management efforts to continuously enhance payroll processes and controls.
  • Champion the implementation and rollout of future global managed payroll services, acting as the senior owner responsible for successful adoption and performance.
  • Translate organisational goals into clear, actionable directives for the team and support direct reports in executing new priorities.
  • Build team capability through knowledge sharing, coaching, and development to improve understanding of business needs and elevate service excellence.
  • Lead, motivate, and grow the team by ensuring training needs are addressed and succession plans are in place.
  • Partner with the Finance Shared Services Manager to ensure payroll services meet or exceed expected service levels and are delivered in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs.

You will also need the following:

  • 5+ years extensive experience as a Payroll Team Lead, ideally within large, complex organizations operating across multiple geographies.
  • Familiarity with Workday, ADP Global View, and/or Ramco Payce Global Payroll is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a strong track record of coaching and mentoring teams across both local and regional operations.
