EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable • Degree in finance or other relevant field CERTIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE • Financial services industry experience. Knowledge of markets and securities services or a related discipline a plus • Understanding of trade services operations and awareness of relevant regulatory requirements • Working knowledge of Swift / ISO payment formatting FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Understanding of the market industry and trade operations • Experience with Managing reconciliations, controls and settlements • Practical expertise with commonly used treasury service tools or techniques • Basic experience with settlement systems • Exposure to market and trade products as well as banking regulatory environment a plus • Proficiency with Relevant business software FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success through the development of analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills • Exercises sound judgement and strives for continuous improvement • Demonstrates optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Learns while doing • Actively listens and asks thoughtful questions • Leverages available technology to achieve efficiency and results • Engages inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsibilities include supporting the post-trade execution of market and treasury transactions. The Settlement Analyst assists with: • Accurately clearing and settling trading activity while observing established cut-off time for relevant currencies and locations • Ensuring efficient settlement via relevant systems • Ensuring that all trading processes and documents comply with relevant regulatory requirements • Processing incoming and outgoing wires • Client allocation distribution • Deal checking, system-to-system reconciliations, and break resolution to settle executed trades • Verifying and validating trades • Preparing settlement and receipt reports and escalating outstanding confirmations as necessary • Responding to settlement queries • Remediating settlement issues • Reviewing and approving margin calls across multiple asset classes • Confirmation and verification of agreed collateral with counterparties • Maintaining eligibility criteria and customer account master static data as per the terms and conditions of executed documentation • Actioning margin transfers on behalf of Tokyo Head Office • Preparing daily/monthly reports • Communicating with Front Office Business Partners regarding trade booking discrepancies and settlement inquiries
