Fueling Your Passion
As a Services Specialist – ALS Applications Engineering, you will serve as a key technical contributor supporting ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) applications. You will work closely with Service Delivery, Sales, and field teams to design ESP systems, support installations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safe, compliant, and high‑performing artificial lift operations throughout the job lifecycle.
As a Services Specialist – ALS Applications Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process for ESP artificial lift applications.
- Partnering with Service Delivery Coordinators and Sales to understand customer production objectives, system constraints, and commercial terms.
- Performing ESP system design, offset well analysis, and engineering modeling calculations, including identification of operational risks and hazards.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to evaluate well conditions, fluid properties, power availability, and mechanical constraints impacting ESP selection.
- Designing ESP job programs, including pump sizing, motor loading, cable selection, risk mitigation steps, and contingency planning.
- Communicating risks related to meeting customer ESP performance requirements through established processes.
- Accurately documenting engineering calculations, simulations, modeling results, and design changes across the ESP lifecycle.
- Providing on‑demand technical support for ESP installations, start‑ups, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Comparing job‑as‑planned versus job‑as‑executed outcomes, capturing lessons learned, and developing improvement recommendations.
- Supporting field incident resolution related to ALS/ESP equipment and participating in incident investigations.
- Ensuring timely incident management and corrective actions to support customer satisfaction and cash collection.
- Identifying opportunities for ESP equipment or system improvements, particularly related to recurring failures or performance gaps.
- Providing ESP technical support to Sales, including system recommendations, equipment selection, and customer presentations.
- Completing product‑line‑specific tasks for the Artificial Lift (ESP) portfolio.
- Supporting special projects related to artificial lift engineering and product development, as assigned.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Have experience or a strong interest in Artificial Lift (ESP) systems, wellbore hydraulics, or production engineering.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.
- Be available to be on call after hours as required by field operations.
- Have the ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical presentations.
- Have strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Be willing to travel to rig sites, customer locations, training, and operational facilities as required.
Desired Characteristics
- Significant operational experience with ESP and other artificial lift technologies.
- Comfort presenting to technical audiences, including customers and peers.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to learn and use engineering software tools related to ESP design and system modeling.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical priorities.

This role reports to the Service Delivery Technical Manager.
