Job Summary: This position is located at Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC), Logistics Division and serves as a Services Operations Assistant. RRMC is an underground relocation site, This location services mission-peculiar requirements, representing the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chief of Staff and all branches of military services.

Major Duties:

  • Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serve as a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative for the Base Operations Support (BOS) contract, reviewing contractor performance for food service, transportation, and custodial operations to ensure strict compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Assist in the comprehensive management of the installation food service program, serving as a technical expert on the contract, evaluating technical proposals, managing equipment life-cycles, and coordinating food service support for real-world events and exercises. Act as a Verifying Official (VO) and Site Security Manager (SSM) for the Common Access Card (CAC) program, independently processing card issuance, maintaining equipment and secure inventories, and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Manage the installation's Billeting and Key Control programs, overseeing lodging assignments, maintaining supplies (cots, linens), resolving customer issues, and ensuring strict accountability of keys for all directorate facilities and warehouses. Coordinate the maintenance and logistical support for installation equipment and vehicles, including managing the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration program and overseeing the repair of GSA rolling stock and gymnasium equipment. Execute critical contingency support operations during site activations or national crises, implementing emergency meal issuance (e.g., MREs), supporting contingency clothing distribution, and safely operating material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts.

Qualifications: MISSION ESSENTIAL POSITION: Mission Essential employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situations due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations (e.g., building closure due to power outage) causing disruptions of government operations, and are required to maintain contact with their supervisor during any dismissal or closure situation unless specifically excused by their supervisor. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your experience: Assisting in the coordination of day-to-day facility or logistical operations, such as managing inventory records for supplies or equipment, coordinating maintenance requests, or overseeing a key control or lodging/billeting program to ensure accountability and operational readiness; Providing support in monitoring vendor or contractor performance for facility services (such as food service, transportation, or custodial support); Performing administrative security and customer service duties, such as processing requests for identification badges or credentials, maintaining visitor logs and coordinating access. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
