Summary
The ServiceNow Architect is a senior level position that requires an advanced understanding of the ServiceNow platform and how to best architect and utilize the capabilities to optimize processes and procedures for use at Iowa State University. The ServiceNow Architect is responsible for the strategic design, governance, and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform to ensure it effectively supports enterprise service delivery at Iowa State University.
This role serves as the technical and architectural authority for ServiceNow, aligning platform capabilities with institutional goals, IT governance standards, and best practices for scalability, performance, and security. The architect provides leadership across ServiceNow initiatives, guiding solution design, integrations, data architecture, and development standards. They collaborate with stakeholders across campus to translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions and ensure the platform evolves in alignment with the university’s enterprise architecture roadmap. The position also leads governance and innovation efforts — defining architectural standards, mentoring technical staff, and evaluating new ServiceNow features to drive modernization and automation. The ServiceNow Architect partners closely with enterprise architecture, information security, and IT service management (ITSM) teams to deliver a cohesive, secure, and value-driven ServiceNow ecosystem that advances digital transformation at the university.
This a remote position that requires a candidate to live in the state of Iowa on or before their first day of employment.
