Job Description:

We are seeking a ServiceNow Architect to serve as a technical and platform owner for ServiceNow. This role is responsible for building, implementing, and scaling ServiceNow in a new or evolving environment, ensuring the platform is secure, well-governed, and positioned for long-term growth.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys designing solutions from the ground up, setting standards, and partnering closely with IT, Security, ITAM/SAM, and Operations teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the technical administration and engineering of the ServiceNow platform
  • Lead initial builds, major enhancements, and re-architecture efforts in new or low-maturity environments
  • Design and enforce platform standards for:
    • Configuration vs customization
    • Data models and CMDB structure
    • Roles, groups, and access controls
  • Build and maintain advanced:
    • Flow Designer automations and workflows
    • Forms, UI policies, business rules, and scripts
    • Integrations with identity, asset, endpoint, and finance systems
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex platform issues
  • Guide platform upgrades, patching, testing, and release planning
  • Establish governance, documentation, and change management practices
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other ServiceNow administrators or engineers

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and engineering ServiceNow
  • Proven experience building or implementing ServiceNow in a new or early-stage environment
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • ServiceNow architecture and data model
    • ACLs, roles, and security design
    • Flow Designer, workflows, and scripting
    • CMDB fundamentals and data quality management
  • Strong ability to balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Jira or Jira Service Management
  • Experience supporting ITSM, ITAM, SAM, or HAM modules
  • Experience with integrations (REST, APIs, identity providers, endpoint tools)
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA required; CIS or higher preferred)

Work Location & Flexibility:

This position can be located remotely, however if the candidate is based in our Minneapolis or New York City locations the office follows a hybrid work model. Employees in these locations are expected to work on-site a minimum of two days per week. Please note that specific business units or role requirements may necessitate additional in-office days based on team collaboration needs or operational priorities.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position based on a good faith assessment of the role and market data at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. This position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or overtime if applicable. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other employee benefits. Specific details will be provided during the interview process. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
