Responsibilities:

Network Operations

Local Area Network (LAN):

  • Monitor and maintain internal network infrastructure including switches, access points, and structured cabling.

  • Configure and manage VLANs, port security, and access control within the LAN environment.

  • Design and implement LAN zoning and segmentation strategies to isolate traffic, enhance security, and optimize performance.

  • Ensure optimal performance of wired and wireless LAN systems across office and data center locations.

  • Management of network devices with Cisco Catalyst Center

  • Troubleshoot LAN-related issues and coordinate with desktop support teams for resolution.

Wide Area Network (WAN):

  • Support and maintain WAN connectivity between branch offices, data centers, and cloud environments.

  • Configure and monitor routers, firewalls, and inter-site routing protocols.

  • Collaborate with ISPs and vendors to manage bandwidth, SLAs, and troubleshoot external connectivity issues.

  • Assist in implementing SD-WAN solutions and optimizing WAN traffic routing.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Cisco network devices including routers and switches.

Virtual Private Network (VPN):

  • Configure and maintain secure VPN tunnels for remote access and site-to-site connectivity.

  • Monitor VPN performance and availability, ensuring secure and reliable access for users and systems.

  • Troubleshoot VPN-related issues and support end-users with connectivity problems.

  • Ensure VPN configurations comply with organizational security policies.

Wireless Network:

  • Deploy and manage wireless access points and controllers across office and campus environments.

  • Monitor wireless network performance, coverage, and interference.

  • Implement wireless security protocols including WPA2/WPA3 and guest access controls.

  • Conduct periodic site surveys and optimize wireless configurations for performance and reliability.

  • Integrate wireless LAN with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for centralized authentication, policy enforcement, and device profiling.

  • Ensure secure onboarding of users and devices through ISE-based access control and posture assessment.

Proxy Operations:

  • Configure and manage proxy servers to control and monitor internet access.

  • Implement URL filtering, content control, and user authentication policies.

  • Analyze proxy logs for usage patterns, security threats, and performance issues.

  • Ensure proxy services align with organizational compliance and security standards.

Firewall Operations:

  • Administer firewall policies and rule sets to protect network boundaries.

  • Monitor firewall logs and alerts suspicious activity and potential threats.

  • Perform regular audits and updates to firewall configurations.

  • Collaborate with security teams to implement intrusion prevention and detection systems.

Cloud Network Management:

  • Manage and monitor cloud-based networking components across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

  • Configure virtual networks, subnets, gateways, and security groups in cloud environments.

  • Integrate on-premises networks with cloud infrastructure using VPNs and hybrid connectivity solutions.

  • Ensure cloud network security, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to support cloud-native applications and services.

Configuration & Deployment

  • Assist in deploying and configuring network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, proxy servers, and wireless controllers.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, configurations, and changes.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement network security measures such as ACLs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Support compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.

Support & Collaboration

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents and service requests.

  • Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and external vendors.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in network administration or support.

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.

  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network platforms.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).

  • Certifications required/preferred:

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) – required

  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) – preferred

  • Fortinet NSE 4 (Network Security Professional) or higher – preferred for FortiGate firewall management

  • Experience with Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate) is highly desirable.
