Water Quality (‘WQ”) Platform is part of the Environmental & Applied Solutions reporting segment and is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater, and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Hach Malaysia Water Quality Platform, a part of the Hach Company, is a leader in manufacturing and distributing analytical instruments and reagents used to test water quality and other liquid solutions. In response to the rapidly expanding reagent in water test business in Malaysia, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Water Quality Malaysia Group as a Service Engineer.
Overview:
The Service Engineer – IST is responsible for providing in house technical servicing, calibration, maintenance and customer support for instruments.
Core Responsibilities:
Performing assigned internal servicing and calibration tasks.
Conduct comprehensive servicing and maintenance on equipment submitted for inspection, guaranteeing a thorough examination of all components and the efficient completion of any required repairs.
Handling and caring for customer instruments and calibration equipment.
Following Hach calibration procedures to ensure accurate results.
Issuing calibration certificates and results promptly.
Efficiently executing calibration duties and maintaining documentation.
Keeping the service area organized, clean, and functional.
Providing customer support for the use and maintenance of instruments.
Managing the Customer Retention System (CRS) for service tracking.
Ensuring quick repair and restoration of faulty equipment.
Assisting with troubleshooting and warranty claims.
Preparing customer quotations in a timely manner.
The role may involve occasional visits to customer sites for detailed assessments, as required only
Skills & Competency Requirements -
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering.
At least 3 years of experience in service, maintenance and repair of equipment.
Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience in servicing, maintenance, and calibration of technical equipment with a proven ability to rapidly pinpoint and rectify system failures, thereby minimizing downtime.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify issues, with a track record of efficient problem resolution.
Customer Service: Excellent communication skills for providing customer support and preparing quotations.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Owns a car and possesses a valid driving license.
Continuous learning attitude and adaptability to new technologies.
Travel Required: As per job requirements, typically 10-20%
