The opportunity:

The Service Account Manager South Italy (hereafter, "Service Account Manager") is responsible for managing and developing service sales activities in the South Italy region. In this role, the Service Account Manager will manage interactions and collaboration with colleagues across the organization, including the Local Service Unit (LSU) Sales Manager and sales teams of the Service Business Units, as well as other relevant stakeholders within Hitachi Energy.

The service account manager will be based in South Italy and is expected to visit customers in the area at least 2–3 days per week to ensure strong customer relationships and effective service delivery.

How you’ll make an impact:

Service Sales Strategy

  • Adopt, plan, and implement local and hub service sales strategies and targets related to the entire service portfolio (lifecycle management, service products and solutions, and installed base (IB) penetration).
  • Deliver and exceed targets in terms of orders, GM%, response time, and customer satisfaction for the full-service portfolio.
  • Responsible for accurate sales order forecasting using SFDC and for improving data quality.
  • Participate in negotiations of major contracts to secure service order volume.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships, generating and identifying service sales leads by analyzing IB potential.
  • Work with account managers to follow service-focused account plans for the country and with segment and channel managers to identify and pursue leads.
  • Establish long-term customer relationships with key customers and decision-makers by understanding requirements, regulations, and exhibiting the value proposition for service.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction issues are registered and responded to.
  • Collaborate with Business Units and account teams to position different service offerings, evaluate and share relevant information on installed base data, sales leads, customer and competitor solutions, and marketing trends.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Support and take the lead when needed for marketing activities and events (trade shows, conferences, customer events) in the country.
  • Support product launches by implementing commercialization plans and other promotional activities.

  • Collaborate closely with local stakeholders in the account management organization to align strategies, implement best practices, and leverage synergies in marketing and sales operations.

Customer Approach

  • Establish long-term customer relationships with key customers and decision-makers by understanding requirements, regulations, and exhibiting high expertise in technical solutions and products.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction issues are registered and responded to.

Sales Processes

  • Participate in sales activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Business Units and account teams to position different service offerings.
  • Evaluate and share relevant information on installed base data, sales leads, customer and competitor solutions, and marketing trends.

Health, Safety, and Integrity

  • Monitor client financial status and report any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams.
  • Identify and manage potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels.
  • Drive health and safety practices in your area.
  • Monitor customer expectations and requirements related to HSE and Sustainability.
  • Promote Hitachi Energy HSE and Sustainability culture and vision to clients to gain commitment.

Personal Leadership and Development

  • Drive sales efficiency by ensuring adequate selling skills for yourself and by sharing best practices with colleagues.
  • Actively demonstrate a "One Hitachi" approach and support colleagues as needed.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in service sales, including IB management.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Proven understanding of Hitachi Energy systems and products.
  • Experience working within the energy sector.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and visit customers in South Italy at least 2–3 days per week.
