Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- The selected candidate will be responsible for participating in all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).
- This role is highly visible with an executive presence and candidate must have an ability to work well with high level NG and government customers.

Basic Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03).
Engineer Systems:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree
- 2+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles
- 2+ years of experience with Requirements Development
Principal Engineer Systems:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree
- 3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles
- 3+ years of experience with Requirements Development
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 1+ years of experience with the Agile Approach
Preferred Qualifications:
- A general understanding of Engineering Board Processes
- Experience leading projects/assignments
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) or similar
- ICBM experience
- Proficiency/Expert with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Cost Account Management/Control Account Management Certification
- Experience/Training in Earned Value Management
- Comfortable briefing leadership and providing status both down and in and up and out

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
